Homogenous conductive heating of curved tubes
Conductive heating of bent metallic pieces using alternating current leads to high temperature differences between inner and outer radii due to different current densities. Technical solutions for homogenisation of these temperatures cannot always be adapted to industrial series production - partly because of missing process stability or flexibility – or do not provide the required quality in a short enough cycle time.
However, specially developed water-cooled magnetic field concentrators directly influence the amount of heat generated in the curves and can be easily used in mass production. Temperature inhomogeneities are decreased, which is important for temperature-sensitive applications like hardening or annealing.
Chain heating units
Quenched and tempered round steel chains have a wide range of applications:
They are used as sling chains or in hoisting equipment, in drive technology, or in underground mining conveyor systems. These chains are each subjected to typical loads and must therefore exhibit certain mechanical properties. High tensile strength and toughness are particularly important here. These properties can be improved and optimized through appropriate heat treatment. In addition to quenched and tempered chains with uniform hardness throughout their cross-section, case-hardened chains are also used. These have a higher surface hardness, which, however, decreases sharply toward the core. Accordingly, their properties and applications also differ:
If high wear resistance is required, case-hardened chains are used; if high toughness and breaking strength are needed, quenched and tempered chains are employed.
Induction heat treatment is used to produce round steel chains with a very high tensile strength for applications such as lifting chains. The entire heat treatment process can be carried out on a single system. The advantages of induction heating—such as energy efficiency, speed, and good reproducibility—can be leveraged.
Systems are tailored to the range of parts and configured according to the customer’s requirements and preferences.
Compact applications with coaxial transformers
Their high energy efficiency and versatile applications—thanks to their compact design and flexible connection to the workpiece—make these systems true all-rounders.
The coaxial transformer can be customized in a variety of ways to suit the specific heating task,
the cable length, an optional handle, or a wide variety of adapters for existing inductors are available.
