Maschinenfabrik Niehoff develops and builds machinery for the production of non-ferrous wires, insulated automotive, data and special cables. The Niehoff Group with nearly 800 employees worldwide is capable to realize turnkey projects of complete cable factories.
For nearly 25 years the Shanghai Sales Branch of Niehoff Machinery Changzhou (NMC), formerly Niehoff Shanghai Representative Office and founded under the name Niehoff Service Center China in 1994, with experienced Chinese engineers supports Chinese customers.
NMC founded in 2011 operates a modern factory for the production of drawing machines, double twist bunching machines and equipment like annealers, spoolers and coilers under Niehoff licence for the Chinese market. NMC is situated in the Wujin Economic Development Zone in Changzhou, west of Shanghai, and also responsible for the after-sales service and the reliable and fast supply of Niehoff’s Chinese customers with NIEHOFF Original+ parts for all Niehoff machinery.
Machinery for drawing, annealing, galvanic electro-plating, bunching, spooling, rewinding and braiding of non-ferrous wires, plus machines for stranding, coiling and spooling of insulated data and special cables.
The portfolio includes technical assistance by specialists who speak the languages of the customers, the reliable supply with NIEHOFF Original+ spare and wear parts, machinery inspection, upgrade and maintenance measures as well as machine operator and maintenance training courses.
With the new Niehoff Digital Assistant+ 4.0, machine, production and process data can be recorded. Thus continuous process monitoring and machine condition analysis are possible. Also spare parts can simply and quickly be identified and enquired, and there are various possibilities in troubleshooting.

Because of their high quality, existing Niehoff machines – even after decades of operation – are worth to be reconditioned and brought up to the latest technical standards. Such an upgrade can make machines almost as good as new, and with special measures, Niehoff upgrading specialists are even able to increase the machines’ original level of productivity. Niehoff specialists are best qualified for this task as they are fully familiar with all aspects of the underlying machine philosophy and have direct access to an excellent documentation with all the data needed for machine upgrading. Most of the spare parts are produced in house to OEM quality. Where third party components are brought in, Niehoff makes sure that they all meet the high Niehoff quality standards.
Based on calculations and tables, Niehoff can reliably demonstrate the specific performance improvements which can be achieved by performing an upgrade in any given situation.
The Niehoff Package System NPS can now be integrated in the new digitization concept of Maschinenfabrik Niehoff as shown by SV type double spoolers equipped with sensor technology. In this way it is possible to measure data such as motor and drive data, rotational speed, speed, vibrations. With the Niehoff Digital Assistant+ 4.0 continuous process monitoring and machine condition analysis are possible.
The NPS, a highly efficient, safe and economic packaging system for automotive wires, consists of the SV type spoolers and the collapsible NPS plastic multiway spools. The wire laying technology offers a stable and tangle-free package on the spools enabling highest cable pay-off. Empty spools can be dismantled, require less return shipping space than traditional spools, can be easily re-assembled and re-used. These characteristics plus the possibilities of the digitization concept result in a further increase of effectiveness of the NPS.
Maschinenfabrik Niehoff and Niehoff Machinery Changzhou Co. Ltd. (NMC) will display:
an MMH 101 + RM 161 type multiwire drawing line from Germany which is designed to draw simultaneously 20 copper wires from 1.8 mm diameter to a minimum final diameter of 0.16 … 0.50 mm;
a D 631.5 single-bow double twist bunching machine built by NMC for strands with a cross section of 0.09 to 6.00 mm² and a steplessly variable lay length of 6 to 100 mm;
an SV 400 D type double spooler, part of the NPS cable handling system and built by NMC, which is designed to operate in-line with extrusion lines. It can spool insulated wires with a cross section of 0.22 … 6.0 mm² and an outer diameter of 1.0 … 5.0 mm (including insulation). The machine can accommodate all NPS 400 multiway spools with a traverse width of 100 to 400 mm and be operated at a maximum speed of 1500 m/min.
All machines are equipped with sensor technology corresponding to the requirements of Industry 4.0 capability.
