The business unit „Cable Measurement Engineering“ under the brand VisioCablePro® develops and produces measuring devices for the wire and cable industry. In particular, cable measuring devices for measuring geometries on cable insulation and jackets. The product portfolio is supplemented by innovative solutions for cable sample preparation as well as performing various material tests according to standards, e.g. the Hot Set Test.
iiM AG will present its three star products: the VCPX5 measuring device, the ORC65 sample cutter and the new Cable-O-Ring cutter ORC80.
The VCPX5 is characterized by the very high measurement resolution of up to 2 μm, its easy operation and quick measurement procedure. The preset optical focus and illumination reduce the operator influence and therefore simplify the operation substantially. This measuring device was especially designed for use in laboratories and in production as a quick-test station. The suitable measuring software FMC-3 is included in the complete VCPX5 package.
The cutting device ORC65 enables quickly cut, parallel and thin samples with an outer diameter up to 65 mm. With the ORC80 it is possible to cut cable samples from hard materials (PE, XLPE) with an outer diameter up to 80mm. The ORC80 provides the option to cut sector cables precisely and smoothly. These cable samples are optimally prepared for measurements in off-line cable measuring devices, such as the VCPX5.
Cable measurement device VCPX5
VCPX5 automatic cable measuring device perfectly fits into the VisioCablePro® portfolio. With a complete measuring range from 0 – 130 mm, a resolution of up to 2 μm as well as a very easy operation without any necessary lens or illumination settings, the device meets the requirements of cable manufacturers from all around the world. Due to the excellent accuracy and repeatability, easy operation as well as the reasonable price, cable manufacturers are able to reduce costs immediately.
Cable O-Ring Cutter 65
With the Cable O-Ring Cutter 65 it is really easy and quick to cut sample slices (cable sheath cutter) with an outer diameter from 1 to 65 millimeters (<2.56"). The samples are optimally prepared for measurements in off-line cable measuring devices.
Cable O-Ring Cutter 80
The Cable O-Ring Cutter ORC80 was designed to combine the features of both the ORC65 and ORC150 – a compact cutting device for hard materials, e.g. PE and XLPE, with an outer diameter from 15 – 80 mm. The ORC80 is also the first device of the ORC series, which can cut parallel and smooth sector cable samples. These cut samples are according to the guidelines of IEC 60811-201 points 8.1.3 and 8.2.3 and are therefore optimal for quality measurements with offline cable measuring devices.
